Description

Position Summary
This position required ability to monitor cardholder account activity to identify fraudulent transactions and Visa / Master Charge violations along with securing cardholder accounts to prevent losses.  Contacts cardholders as required to validate the questionable charges are authorized.  Under general direction and with minimal supervision, position’s responsibilities are typically the most complex requiring the use of independent judgment and thinking.  Typically follows defined procedures, policies and precedents resolving many unusual situations and day to day problems; referring the most unusual and complex to the Manager or Supervisor.  Requires thorough knowledge of PC based software.  Three to five years of customer service experience is preferred.

Essential Functions
1.      Monitors and analyses merchant and cardholder account activity to identify abnormal activity that may be fraudulent, violate the terms of the merchant / cardholder agreement or indicate pending credit risk.
2.     
Frequently contacts cardholders to validate that charges are authorized.
3.      Secures cardholder accounts to prevent losses upon ascertaining abnormal activity or receiving notification of credit card loss or unauthorized use.

4.      Actively ensures compliance with the U.S. Bank Code of Ethics and all Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, information security and suspicious activity reporting requirements, policies and procedures.  Actively participates in any required corporate and business line training in these areas.  Follows account opening procedures and understands and follows internal suspicious activity referral requirements and processes, as required for this position. Actively works with customers to understand each customer's normal account activity, as appropriate for this position.
